About the Nanomechanics Lab

Our Location

The main laboratory (4-047) and the office of Dr. Ming Dao (4-045) are located in Building 4 on the main MIT campus. Some experimental labs are located in Building 6 on the main MIT campus and 500 Technology Square (NE47) in the Biological Engineering Department.

The Nanomechanics Lab investigates mechanical properties of engineered and biological materials at the nano to macro-scale using experimental, analytical, and computational techniques.

Current research projects include studies of nanostructured materials as well as exploring connections between biological cell mechanics and human disease states.
